As part of a larger masterplan to develop the surrounding area Hive were appointed to produce a vision for an external events space.
Our proposal was built around the idea of a large marketplace, which will host local events such as a regular farmer’s market. The scheme also includes facilities for curling, situated on the site of a historical ice rink, a stage for musical performances and a campsite. In addition, Hive proposed a timber tower to be built at the base of the marketplace, offering views across Scotland’s West coast during the day, and of the stars by night.

The project is still at a conceptual stage and will likely change as new ideas are brought to the table.
