Mansard Roof and Flat Refurbishment

Hive were appointed to develop the top floor of a B listed townhouse in the West End of Glasgow. The proposal seeks to redesign the roof structure as a Mansard roof, in-keeping with the surrounding buildings. This maximises floor area and improves the level of light into the flat and the quality of the property in general.

The slope of the mansard roof has been incorporated into the design of a full length oak ply shelving unit, where the depth of the shelving follows the slope of the roof to create a unique yet functional feature of the room.
